Yorkshire-based Regal Food Products Group has gained new Ocado listings for 62 products under two of its brands, Regal Foods and Yorkshire Baking Company.
The items launched on the online supermarket platform cover both world food and mainstream cake, and add to existing listings to bring its total to nearly 100 on Ocado.
Regal Foods has sub-brands Regal Bakery, Regal Snacks, Regal Smilooo (sweets), and Regal Siprus (juices), which have all received new listings for multiple products. Among the baked goods selected by Ocado are cake rusks, cake slices, fairy cakes, Sprits (cookie rings), Baqar Khani (puff pastry hearts), naan, filled croissants, baklawa, and cream rolls.
Meanwhile, loaf cake and slices versions of Yorkshire Baking Company’s Yorkshire Parkin are being offered to Ocado customers, along with various flavours of its popular Mega Loaf cake range including Cherry, Jam & Coconut, Lemon Crunch, Madeira, Sticky Toffee, and Sultana. Jam & Coconut was launched last summer as a limited edition flavour and has proven so successful that it is set to join the other core Mega Loaf flavours on a permanent basis. A spokesperson for the company told British Baker it has ”many more exciting limited edition flavours planned which we will be introducing throughout the year – in response to customer demands and seasonal themes”.
Arainn Cleland, sales director of Regal Food, said: “We are thrilled to be further strengthening our product availability with Ocado Retail. With a selection of our core ranges growing at a rapid pace, the new listing will ensure wide availability for customers old and new.”
Amar Gohil, Ocado’s senior buyer for specialty foods, expressed the retailer’s delight to be launching a range of bakery, snacking, and juices from Regal brands on its platform. “Over the past couple of years, we’ve also noticed that customers are looking to enjoy the famous Mega Loaf and Yorkshire Parkin, bringing a taste of Yorkshire straight to our customers door,” he added.
The Regal group has a portfolio of over 400 products spread across its catalogue of brands, which also includes Just Desserts Yorkshire (acquired in 2022), The Cake Emporium (a sub-brand launched in late 2023), Love Handmade Cakes (purchased at the start of 2024), and Love Cheesecakes (bought last July). Manufactured at six different sites across Yorkshire, the products are distributed to over 3,000 retail and wholesale outlets across the UK and exported to more than 40 countries worldwide.
Ocado was named Online Bakery Business of the Year at the Baking Industry Awards 2023.
