Twenty-three-year-old Gabriella Cugno, who works as a pastry chef at London’s Ritz Hotel, has been named UK Junior Chocolate Master 2017.
The pastry chef from Creigiau in Wales competed against five others to win the title.
She said of the win: “I had no idea that I would win – I was just in shock. Everyone worked so hard for it and I did feel bad in a way for coming first!”
Each candidate was tasked with making 20 chocolate bars, eight on-the-go desserts and one showpiece, all based around an English country garden theme.
