Training provider and consultancy AIB International UK has become an associate member of the Federation of Bakers.
Founded in the US in 1919, and originally known as the American Institute of Baking, AIB International UK provides training, consultation and support, including a range of bakery and food safety services.
Its original mission was to “put science to work for the baker”, a theme it says it has expanded while remaining central to its programmes, products and services.
“Our global mission is to empower the food industry to produce high-quality, safe food for consumers,” said AIB International UK bakery professional Lee Taylor.
“Our inspectors, scientists, bakers and technical experts partner with our clients to navigate the complex industry in which we work. We are looking forward to continuing our important work in partnership with the Federation of Bakers.”
Federation of Bakers chief executive Gordon Polson welcomed AIB International UK to the federation and said he hoped to support it as it continued to expand its business.
The Federation of Bakers has nine member companies running 34 bakeries in the UK and supplying the majority of the bread consumed here.
Current associate members are: AAK (UK), AB Mauri UK and Ireland, ADM Milling, AIB International UK, American Pan UK, Baker Perkins, Bakers’ Basco, British Bakels, Bühler, Campden BRI, CSM (UK), Energy Management LLP, GB Ingredients, FlexLink Systems, Kaak Group, Kwik Lok, Lesaffre Group, NFU Mutual, Puratos, Spooner Industries, TasteTech, The Ice Co, United Bakery Equipment Co, Zeelandia and Zeppelin Systems.
