BAKO North Western has held a workshop focusing on the busy seasonal baking period.
Taking place on 2 October, the session was held in association with suppliers Macphie, Renshaw, CSM, Riches and Callebaut in the BAKORY training facility.
The fully booked event focused on three main themes key to the baking industry: Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas.
Attendees watched live presentations and demonstrations, displaying products and ideas to be utilised during the festive period.
This included added almond flavour to traditional Eccles cakes, adding a layer of apple to caramel slices for Bonfire night, as well as “spooky” tempered chocolate lollipops.
Sam Hayward, event co-ordinator, said: “As this is often a very busy time for bakers, it can be difficult to find time to be innovative, so we find this type of event really benefits our customers to help them create some simple and unique products to take back to their businesses.”
