Cornwall-based bakery Furniss has launched a series of ‘Delights’ biscuits adding to its existing range of gingerbread, shortbread, oat biscuits and Gingers.
The range of biscuits comes in a variety of flavours, including chocolate chip oat crunchie and blossom honey oat crunchie, both of which are palm oil-free. Other flavours include Sicilian lemon crisp and dark chocolate chip ginger.
The biscuits are expected to be available in both drums and skillets. Furniss said that the ‘Delights’ range is perfect for eating every day, as well as for a special gift, making the product series a versatile yet premium addition to its existing range.
Furniss is renowned for using largely locally sourced ingredients and continues to base all of its baking in Cornwall. This range of biscuits is said to incorporate modern tastes and trends into some of its more traditional products. The bold and contemporary packaging reflected this aim, said Furniss, as it sought to represent each flavour by using bright and vibrant colours to make its products stand out on-shelf.
The company began with the singular Cornish maker John Cooper Furniss back in 1886. Since then it has grown substantially over the past 130 years to expand nationwide while still maintaining local roots. Furniss claimed it remained the only company licensed to make the original Cornish Fairings – spiced crunchy biscuits from the region.
