Krispy Kreme and McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes have joined forces to create a limited edition Jaffanut.

The sweet treat (rsp: £2.45), which rolls out today (5 September), is made from soft dough, has a zesty orange filling centre and is coated with dark chocolate icing.

Shaped to look like a traditional Jaffa Cake, the NPD will be on sale until 9 October at Krispy Kreme shops, in supermarkets, services and via UberEats, Deliveroo and JustEat.

“McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes are a much-loved product in the UK and Ireland, and we’re excited to announce this partnership and bring consumers two iconic flavours in one product,” Louise Direito, Krispy Kreme UK and Ireland’s director of innovation, said.

“We’ve had a lot of fun perfecting the Jaffanut and can’t wait for our customers to experience the same joy when they try it for themselves.”

Krispy Kreme UK currently operates over 127 retail shops and has a presence in over 1,280 cabinets with retail partners.

In July, it announced Jamie Dunning would become its new president and managing director for the UK and Ireland.

Dunning replaced Richard Cheshire, who took the decision to step down from his role as Krispy Kreme’s UK & Ireland CEO after nearly 20 years of working in leadership roles at the company.

Krispy Kreme UK’s full-year accounts, filed last month with Companies House, showed the business achieved an operating profit of £13.9m for the 52 weeks ended 2 January 2022, and profit after tax of £13.5m.
