Cake art curator Miss Cakehead stunned guests with her gory cake shop, Feed the Beast: Eat Your Heart Out 2013.
Sponsored by Kraken Rum and held at The Rag Factory, Brick Lane, London, attendees were treated to a collection of cakes and cupcakes inspired by the theme.
Products included a devil horse by The Tattooed Bakers, made from a red velvet sponge; a Montauk monster cake containing vanilla sponge, white chocolate buttercream, and marshmallow fondant by The Sugar Pit; a Kraken eye cake with jelly eyeball by The Conjurer’s Kitchen; and a mummified monkey mermaid cake by The Cake Revolution.
Commenting on the event, now in its third year, Miss Cakehead said: “The opening night of Feed The Beast was a huge success and managed to both delight and disgust guests. The cakes which guests could interact with were a huge success and we are already looking on ways to build on this for 2014.”
