UK supermarket Asda has recalled packs of its Baker’s Selection 20 Mini Rocky Road Bites, with a best-before date of 4 August.
The move came after the supermarket incorrectly filled the £2 packs (bar code 505244968572) with Mini Chocolate Brownies that contain eggs, which is not declared in the ingredients. The product could potentially be a health risk to those with an allergy or intolerance to egg.
A statement from Asda said: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and will ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
The supermarket has urged anyone that has purchased the Rocky Road Mini Pack of 20 to return the product to their nearest store, where they will receive a full refund - and a receipt is not needed.
Asda customers have united on Twitter asking to share the tweet that was sent out by the supermarket regarding the recall.
In February, long-life bread and cake distributers, British & Continental Food Brokers, recalled two Swiss roll products due to incorrect information on ingredients.
