Food ingredients supplier EHL Ingredients has unveiled a new 20-strong range of gluten-free ingredients for bakers to add to formulations and recipes.
Dried ground turmeric, cassia, star anise and oregano are among the new range that has been produced in response to consumer demand for free-from products.
EHL said that the new ingredients are perfect for bakers who are developing dishes and alternative foods for coeliacs and the gluten-free market.
“Gluten-free presents an opportunity for us, and for the food industry as a whole, and we are working hard to source and develop ingredients to ensure those with a gluten intolerance don’t have to compromise on flavour,” said EHL’s NPD manager Kath Davies.
“The UK free-from market is growing rapidly and expected to be worth £925 million by 2021, according to Mintel. As a result, bakers and food manufacturers are under pressure to bring high quality, differentiated, gluten-free products to market.”
The ingredients supplier revealed that they have plans to expand the range in the coming months.
