Hovis has announced that Nish Kankiwala will be its new chief executive, as Martyn Wilks retires.
Hovis announced today (19 April) that chief executive Martyn Wilks has decided to retire, and will be leaving the business on 13 May. Nish Kankiwala will become chief executive with effect from 16 May.
Wilks has decided to retire from corporate life, having worked for companies such as Mars, Dairy Crest and Hovis.
Kankiwala joined Hovis in May 2014, just after the company’s separation from Premier Foods and, according to the company, “has been instrumental in the creation of Hovis Limited as a standalone business”.
Kankiwala said: “Hovis would like to thank Martyn for his time and commitment to the business, and for the contribution he has made during his time here. We wish him all the best for the future.”
Last month, Premier Foods, the manufacturer of Mr Kipling and Cadbury cakes, revealed it would write off its £8m investment in Hovis.
