Greggs, Costa, Birds Bakery and Cooplands are among the businesses to close on Monday 19 September as a mark of respect for the Queen’s funeral.
The businesses shared the messages on social media as they wish to allow employees the opportunity to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and, as such, will not open their retail sites that day with normal operations resuming on Tuesday 20 September.

Starbucks UK, meanwhile, announced that it would be closing all company-owned stores between 11am and 2pm on Monday. However, some operated by partners or near the funeral may stay open.

Craft bakers are taking different approaches. Reading-based family business Warings Bakery will be closed on Monday while Dunns Bakery in London will close between 10:45 and 1pm.
