A new store dedicated to ‘the most luxurious doughnuts London has ever seen’ has opened on Charing Cross Road.
Called Donutelier by Roladin, the store is inspired by the craftsmanship of the world’s greatest fashion ateliers, the firm said, and will showcase each step of the doughnut making and designing process. Each doughnut will be handmade, with visitors able to watch as the dough puffs up into golden doughnuts, before being skilfully decorated by Donutelier’s team of pastry chefs.
It represents the UK debut for Israeli bakery and café group Roladin as well as the first store dedicated to doughnuts.
The menu features a range of Roladin’s signature doughnuts, prices of which start from £5, including:
- Pistachio – filled with Chantilly cream and marbled pistachio, topped with an almond sable, pistachio nibs and dried raspberries
- Dulcey Peanut Caramel – with Dulcey fleur de sel ganache, peanuts, caramelised peanuts and caramel Chantilly
- Pink Royal – featuring wild berry cream topped with mini strawberry meringues, dried raspberries, and a raspberry Chantilly cream.
Visitors will also be able to order a selection of coffees and, in time, other pastries which will be added to the menu in the future.
“We are excited to bring some of the most innovative and luxurious doughnuts the world has ever seen to London,” said Arik Waiss, CEO and partner of Donutelier by Roladin.
“For the first time we are launching Roladin in the UK with a brand new store, debuting our signature doughnuts which will be freshly prepared on site. The store will be a new experience for Londoners and for this reason we are very excited for the opening this winter.”
The interior of the store features marble countertops and brass mirrored ceilings. Doughnuts will be displayed on brass cake stands lit by glass fittings inspired by pâtissiers’ piping bags. Lining the back wall will be rows of doughnut boxes in varying pantones of pink and orange.
