The new speciality bread range from independent food ingredients manufacturer Macphie is designed to be “quick, easy and tasty”.
The range of mixes from Aberdeenshire-based Macphie includes buttermilk quick bread, wheaten buttermilk quick bread and sourdough, and was developed following research which provided “an insight into what customers really want and enjoy”, according to the company.
It added: “The range is versatile, and tolerant to a number of inclusions and flavours.”
Additionally, the new quick breads are a source of fibre and are suitable for vegetarians. They are also “really easy to produce, as you just add water, and the whole process takes under half an hour”.
Available in 12.5kg packs, the mixes produce a variety of breads and rolls, as well as a range of sweet and savoury dishes.
In March, Macphie appointed Richard Cox to its executive board as commercial director.
