Kara, the foodservice brand of the Finsbury Food Group, has expanded its Genius gluten-free foodservice offering.
Last year the brand launched a range of gluten-free breads into foodservice. The success of these products and growing demand for gluten-free goods has led to five new lines being added to the range, said the business.
The range now includes ‘light and fluffy golden pancakes’, wheat-free crumpets and English muffin. All are served with a number of toppings and fillings.
It has also expanded its bread range, comprising American-style ‘light and fluffy ‘bagels, and bite-sized pittas, which can both be served hot or cold with fillings.
“Research has shown the catering industry is missing out on an estimated £100m a year by not catering for people with coeliac disease,” said Kirsty Peel, Genius account manager.
“The launch comes at a perfect opportunity for out-of-home vendors to capitalise on this growing market and expand their product offerings.”
In November, Kara brought out a new Tulip Muffin range, which offers a rejuvenation of its three existing muffin lines, and expanded the range with four new flavours.
