Zeelandia has agreed to sell its bakery equipment business, Zeelandia Technical Solutions (ZTS), to Everbake Group to focus on its bakery ingredients portfolio.
ZTS develops, produces, sells and maintains bakery machines and is part of Zeelandia. The bakery machines, with the brand names Zela and Zelamatic, are used in bakeries around the world.
However, Zeelandia says the activities of ZTS do not fit with its strategy to become the leading company in quality bakery ingredients.
Peter Eversdijk, director Everbake Group, a specialist in bakeware for industrial bakeries worldwide, said: “The acquisition of ZTS would allow us to improve our position in the national and international bakery machinery industry, and would be an important basis for us to continue to grow our business.”
Everbake and Zeelandia have worked together for some time, supplying solutions to bakeries. Everbake intends to take over all the activities of ZTS and keep the existing team of employees. Both companies plan to continue their collaboration after ZTS’ change of ownership, to strengthen each other’s activities.
The deal will take effect on 16 September. Until then, all necessary preparations for the sale will be carried out jointly by Everbake and Zeelandia.
NB: Following this announcement Zeelandia has reassured its customers in the UK and Ireland that it is very much business as usual, and that the supply and servicing of release agent and dosing application equipment will continue to be managed by Zeelandia Ltd. ZTS did not operate in the UK, as the UK has its own in-house engineering function. ZTS typically supported those countries that did not have the depth of application and equipment experience that Zeelandia has within the UK.
