FOOD SAFETY AND HYGIENE POST COVID-19

The outbreak of Covid-19 saw businesses across the food and drink industry step up their food safety and hygiene measures with many making drastic changes to ensure they can keep trading.

This feature will look at the legacy the crisis will have on operations in bakeries and cafes, in particular the practices and equipment businesses will continue to employ once life returns to normal. For example, will sneeze screens become common place? How often will sanitising need to take place to be deemed sufficient and which areas of a bakery should be prioritised?
