Efficiency is the name of the game in bakery manufacturing but according to a report from AMF many industrial bakeries still operate with significant inefficiencies stemming from changeovers, downtime, giveaway and quality losses. This means equipment suppliers are increasingly selling performance analytics rather than just machinery. This feature will explore how manufacturers can use data to claw back any losses and become as efficient as possible.
Key questions this feature will address:
- Where do you think the biggest performance losses occur? For example, downtime, changeovers, waste, giveaway, labour inefficiencies or energy use?
- How can these be overcome? What sort of results can manufacturers expect?
- What part does data play in making manufacturing more efficient? Why?
- How are manufacturers measuring measure Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)?
- Where do you see data analytics having the biggest impact over the next five years?
We’re also looking for case studies which demonstrate measurable improvements in efficiency.
