The Alliance for Bakery Students and Trainees (ABST) has created a new innovation challenge for student and trainee members.

Entrants are tasked with creating two brand new recipes burger buns – one for a chicken burger and one for beef.

Samples of the products will be judged alongside a print-out of the recipe and details of the concept behind it by a team of three judges, including sponsor Guenther Bakeries and a member of the ABST.

Entries should be sent in via the student’s college or other learning institute no later than Friday 11 January 2019. The judging day will take place on Saturday 16 February 2019.

The winner will receive £100 cash, as well as the innovation award trophy, which they can keep for one year, and a medal. Second and third place will win a medal alongside £50 and £25 cash prizes respectively.
