Dawn Foods is to launch a new national bakery week as part of its American bakery campaign.
Running from 1-7 July 2014, the UK’s first National American Sweet Bakery Week aims to help high street bakers boost sales by increasing awareness of American-inspired products.
Recipes will be available to download from Dawn’s website, including red velvet cupcakes, toffee popcorn muffins, cookie sandwiches and cookies & cream gateaux.
Jacqui Passmore, Dawn Foods UK marketing manager, said: “Dawn Foods was born in the USA almost 100 years ago and today we’re one of the biggest suppliers of American sweet bakery products in Europe.
“We know American products are big news in the UK sweet bakery market, so we are encouraging bakers to make the most of this growing trend by whipping up their most tempting and tasty all-American sweet baked goods for National American Sweet Bakery Week from 1-7 July.”
Central to Dawn’s wider American Bakery Campaign is the Dawn Road Trip, which bakers can follow online as Dawn stops at 10 American cities this year; starting in New York and finishing in San Francisco. Each city offers new American recipe ideas, designed to help bakers build their business in American bakery products.
Bakers are also being given the opportunity to enter American-themed competitions and giveaways. Prizes include a five-night stay in New York, National Football League Wembley tickets, dining experiences for two at London’s Hard Rock Café, and Baker’s Toolkits.
