Finsbury Food Group has extended its licensed product range with new sweet treats.
Rolling out this month to Tesco, Asda, and Morrisons – ahead of the November release of the Moana 2 movie – is a Moana Celebration Cake (rsp £13).
Finsbury has worked with licensing partner Disney to develop the sponge cake, which is layered with strawberry jam and topped with sugar paste featuring images of Moana, the mighty Maui, and the Pua the pig.
Licensed products are a core element of Finsbury’s commercial strategy, with recent launches including an England Shirt Shaped Cake to coincide with the 2024 UEFA Euros tournament, and a Stranger Things Celebration Cake aimed at fans of the Netflix show.
“Following a successful Euros and our FA England Themed Shirt Cake, we are thrilled to be working with our partners at Disney to produce a Moana themed celebration cake,” said Finsbury Character Licence Manager Andrew Scott.
“The cake precedes the highly anticipated release of the second Moana film, and we can’t wait to share the moment with fans for what is sure to be one of the film events of the year.”

Mary Berry Coffee Toffee cake
Finsbury is expanding its Mary Berry range with a Coffee Toffee Cake that is rolling out to Sainsbury’s stores (rsp £4), which comprises a coffee sponge filled and topped with coffee frosting and decorated with toffee pieces. It will sit alongside the Mary Berry Chocolate Sharing Cake that had been a ‘real hit’ with shoppers, according to Finsbury.
Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Luscious Layer Cake
Gin fans are in Finsbury’s sights with the launch of a Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Luscious Layer Cake into Asda stores (rsp £14). The cake features layers of yellow and white sponge with lemon curd, lemon gin-flavoured frostings, and lemon sugar crystals.
Thorntons Bites
Finsbury has extended its long-running Thorntons tie-up with new packs of 10 Thorntons Bites in two flavours: Chocolate Fudge Brownies and Caramel Shortcake Bites (rsp: £1.90). They are available in Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Co-op.
