Two brands owned by Yorkshire-based Regal Foods Products Group have rolled out new gateaux and cheesecakes for their foodservice customers.
The Cake Emporium, which has its foodservice products made by sweet bakery supplier Love Handmade Cakes (acquired by Regal at the start of the year), has launched an 18-strong range of handcrafted gateaux into Bestway Wholesale.
Said to meet the growing needs of caterers, fast food outlets, and those operating within the hospitality sector, the range features classic teatime favourites and innovative twists covering both fruity and chocolatey flavours. Among the line-up are Victoria Sponge, Carrot, Chocolate Fudge, Black Forest, Cookies & Cream, Mocha, and Bubble Gum.
Priced at £13.99 and offering 14 portions, they are sold frozen and come in rigid, cake dome packaging to make storing and displaying easier whilst maintaining the freshness, the firm said.
“The Cake Emporium gateaux has been developed with the aim of delivering a cake range that is both visually pleasing and outstanding in taste, all whilst offering our customers a great value for money product,” commented Stephen Wood, general manager of The Cake Emporium.
“With our first set of products launched, customers can now look forward to more new product developments going forward, including seasonal treats and ranges,” he added.
Meanwhile, Just Desserts Yorkshire – part of Regal’s portfolio since January 2022 – has expanded its luxury cheesecake range with four new additions that broaden the flavours available to its farm shop, deli, café, and restaurant customers.
Sold in cases of 16 individual-sized portions (rsp: £3.50 each) in retail-ready packaging, the new variants include:
- Blueberry Crumble Cheesecake – a plain digestive biscuit-based cheesecake filled with creamy blueberry filling and topped with crunchy golden crumble
- Raspberry Ripple Cheesecake – a plain digestive biscuit-based cheesecake filled with sweet-tart raspberry filling and topped with dried raspberries and white chocolate drizzle
- Pistachio Cheesecake – a light digestive base topped with creamy cheesecake and layered with pistachio spread, finished with dried raspberries and pistachio pieces
- Tiramisu Cheesecake – a coffee-flavoured creamy cheesecake layered with light chocolate sponge, dusted with cocoa powder and finished with a chocolate-covered coffee bean.
Regal is currently in a period of rapid growth through investments. In mid-July, it announced the acquisition of Lancashire brand Love Cheesecakes, with production transferred to its Love Handmade Cakes factory in Leeds. A month prior to this, the manufacturing group purchased a 45,000 sq ft warehouse space in Bradford, the city where its main site and headquarters are located. Just over a year ago, it acquired its first non-food and drink business, Packaging ‘R’ Us.
