Ingredient solutions provider Ingredion has showcased its latest nature-based label starches at agri-food show CFIA Rennes 2014.
Taking place between 11-13 February in Rennes, France, the company displayed its new Novation Endura series and Novation Indulge 1720 speciality starch.
According to Ingredion, the Novation Endura 0100 starch offers “maximum stability” for products, and the ability to withstand higher cooking temperatures, which enables manufacturers to create a wider range of appealing food products without additives. This includes bakery and savoury products, and dairy desserts.
Novation Indulge 1720 speciality starch is a clean-label co-texturiser that replaces protein to generate lower overall ingredient costs, suitable for the yoghurt market.
At the stand, visitors were informed as to how manufacturers can deliver freshness in cake products, while maintaining a clean label, without E numbers. They were also able to sample magdalenas made with Ingredion ingredients.
The Ingredion group of companies specialises in nature-based sweeteners, starches and nutritional ingredients. With customers in more than 40 countries, it serves approximately 60 sectors in food, beverage, brewing pharmaceuticals and other industries.
