A Northern Ireland bakery has recalled a product after incorrect labelling neglected to state the presence of walnuts.
Cottage Kitchen, based in Galgorm, Ballymena, recalled its Traybake Selection because the product contains walnuts, which is not mentioned on the ingredients label and poses a health risk to anyone allergic to nuts.
The product had been distributed to 48 stores in Northern Ireland.
The company has recalled the product showing all dates up to and including 21 September 2015 from its retail customers and issued point-of-sale notices to relevant outlets.
No other products are thought to be affected.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) statement said: “The FSA was contacted by a member of the public who had a complaint about the product and we passed the details on to the relevant local authority. The LA has worked with the business to correct the labelling.
“A number of small retail premises in Northern Ireland only [had to recall the products]. [There was] no distribution to Great Britain or the Republic of Ireland.”
British Baker could not contact Cottage Kitchen for a comment.
