Roberts True Vitality

Roberts Bakery has unveiled four new loaves with a focus on vitamins, minerals and other nutritious ingredients.

The business said it “has gone all out to create a range of loaves to help build up and boost the body’s natural defences at a time when we need it most”.

Rolling out to Tesco stores now, the line-up comprises two new bloomers in its Good for You range, an Ultimate Fibre Wholemeal and the Vit Hit 50% Wholemeal, 50% White loaf.

Described as high in fibre and low in fat, they are packaged in sustainably sourced paper packaging.

The new loaves are:

  • Energy Balance Good for You Bloomer (rsp: £1.55): With oatmeal and a mixture of quinoa, watermelon and chia seeds, this contains magnesium “to support a healthy metabolism”. It is exclusive to Tesco
  • The True Vitality Good for You Bloomer (rsp: £1.55): With whole hemp seeds, brown rice flour, malted wheat flakes and zinc “for a healthy immune system”. Also exclusive to Tesco
  • Vit Hit 50% Wholemeal, 50% White loaf (rsp: £1.15): Half white flour, half wholemeal with the addition of seven vitamins and minerals, including thiamine B1, vitamin D, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, niacin and folic acid.
  • Ultimate Fibre Wholemeal (rsp: £1.15): Replacing the baker’s classic wholemeal loaf, this has 8.7g of fibre per 100g, making it Roberts’ highest-fibre wholemeal loaf to date.

“Made using seeds, minerals, fibres, proteins and wholegrains, our new range makes use of so many ingredients that support better health and wellbeing,” said Roberts innovation director Alison Ordonez.

“Shoppers are increasingly interested in the nutritional and functional health benefits in bread and it’s never been more important as we think again about the importance of diet in protecting ourselves and our families, and strengthening our natural defences against infection and disease.”

The bakery has also produced a Heathy Hits Bundle, containing three of the new loaves as well as four wholemeal rolls and six Brown Sandwich Lites. This is available for delivery from Roberts’ new e-shop.
