Food-to-go business Urban Eat has added a pair of seasonal flavours to its range of sandwiches and wraps.
The new flavours are Chicken Katsu, which is made up of southern fried chicken goujons with chilli cabbage slaw and a katsu curry & sweetcorn mayonnaise on white bread; and Goat’s Cheese & Tomato, which contains goat’s cheese with spicy tomato salsa, slow-roasted tomato mayonnaise, tomato and salad leaves on tomato and olive oil bread.
Urban Eat owner Adelie Foods said it had developed the new sandwiches to cater for the rising number of consumers wanting to try global flavours.
It added that the seasonal specials were designed to increase purchase frequency, with a fifth of shoppers stating that an increase in seasonal specials would encourage them to buy more food and drink to go [MCA Food to Go Report 2018].
“Our seasonal specials have proved a huge hit, becoming strong sellers when added to the Urban Eat collection,” said Adelie Foods brand head Isla Owen.
“Our recent research has shown chicken katsu to be an on-trend flavour, so we think it will make a great addition to our range and offer something different to the sandwich market.
“With the number of consumers looking for meat-free lunchtime options, we’ve added this goat’s cheese sandwich to kickstart the New Year and offer a different flavour combination post-Christmas.”
The January seasonal specials are available with an rsp of £2.79 each.
