Shropshire-based Kudos Blends is bringing its sodium bicarbonate replacement potassium bicarbonate to the US.
The ingredients supplier has partnered with US distribution company AIC, which will distribute Kudos’ patented potassium bicarbonate across the US market.
Like normal bicarb, Kudos’ ingredient helps lighten and soften mixtures while reducing sodium and increasing potassium, said the supplier.
“Sales of our potassium bicarbonate have been booming,” said Kudos managing director Dinnie Jordan. “We have been exporting since 2011, supporting major bakery brands around the world in their quest to reduce sodium.”
Kudos already supplies its potassium bicarbonate to businesses in Europe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America and Canada.
“We are looking forward to demonstrating to the market the low sodium option available for baked goods,” said Mark Robertson, executive VP of marketing at AIC.
