Lily Vanilli has revealed she is to design some sweet healthy treats for the online snack box company Graze.
Due to launch in the New Year, the products are expected be based around Graze’s classic box, but are still in the early development stage.
Vanilli said she was approached by Graze because of her creative, visually stunning bakes made with healthy ingredients. This includes the use of beetroot in chocolate cake, something Graze has itself done with its brownie.
Vanilli said: “I think it makes sense as a partnership as we have a similar ethic with healthy ingredients and how to use them.”
She added: “We do have some exciting ideas for Valentine’s Day but it has to be confirmed really.”
Lily Vanilli runs a café and bespoke cake-making service in Shoreditch, London. She has written two books, including Sweet Tooth, which was named as one of The Independent’s books of the year.
Graze started life as an online delivery company – but has moved into retail this year with listings at major supermarkets. The company increased sales by 29% to £68m in the year to 28 February, with this expected to rise further as it grows in retail.
This week the company announced it was being stocked by 1,000 Tesco Express stores, taking it to 4,000 stockists. Retail currently accounts for 10% of its sales.
