Equipment supplier Reiser UK has appointed James Couldwell as its new managing director.
He joins the firm – which specialises in processing and packaging solutions for sectors including bakery, meat, and dairy – with extensive leadership experience in the packaging machinery sector, having previously served as MD of Ulma Packaging UK.
During his time with Ulma, Couldwell led strategic growth initiatives, strengthened market presence, and championed customer-focused service excellence.
He replaces Richard Watson who took up the position of MD at Milton Keynes-headquartered processing and weighing firm Bizerba in August 2025.

In his new role at Reiser UK, Couldwell will oversee all aspects of business growth, customer engagement and operational excellence. He will work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to continue delivering high-performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of food and packaging professionals.

Reiser was founded by Robert Reiser in 1959 in Boston, Massachusetts, opening its first UK HQ in Milton Keynes in 1993 as it looked to better serve customers across the region. Although it services several industries, in bakery it is best known for its Vemag dough dividers and depositors which can be used for a variety of applications, including cookies, bread, and gluten-free baked goods.
Reiser UK isn’t the only equipment supplier with a new face at the top of late as oven specialist Unox UK appointed Steven McGarvie as MD this month.
