Silvery Tweed Cereals has appointed Mark Jackson to its board in the role of sales director.
Jackson will be responsible for the day-to-day performance and ongoing development of the sales and NPD teams at the cereals and seed processor.
The company said Jackson has had 30 years’ experience in the food industry, spanning the bakery, fresh produce, meat and seafood sectors. It added he has worked directly with major food retailers for global manufacturers, most recently in the seafood and meat categories, supplying global manufacturing, wholesale and foodservice customers.
“Mark is a great fit with our business and brings a wide range of experience across various sectors and from commodity to added-value products,” said Silvery Tweed managing director Bob Gladstone.
“His experience of supplying direct to retailers, as well as into the supply chain, means he understands the challenges our customers face and the solutions they are looking for. We’re very pleased to welcome him to the team to help drive the continued growth of the business.”
Based in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Silvery Tweed employs more than 90 people, cleaning and processing grain from growers based mostly in the Borders area. The company manufactures cereal products, including flour, cereal flakes, grain and seed blends, alongside bespoke products to many of the UK’s leading cereal and bakery brands.
