British Sugar has launched BS Connect, an extranet service designed to provide its custo-mers with information to suit their individual requirements.
The launch, says British Sugar, is in response to customer needs for real-time, confidential and instant access to information, including pricing data.
Marketing operations manager Myra Hales says the service will revolutionise the way British Sugar communicates with its customers, all of whom will have company passwords. The site will be expanded gradually to include value-added services, promotions and market research.
BS Connect is said to be part of a huge cultural change at the sugar supplier, which produces about 1.3 million tonnes annually from six factories.
