The Dorset-based bakery Fudges has unveiled a nearly £1m investment that will increase production at its Salbridge site by up to 50%.

It said the development was needed after witnessing a 250% increase in sales in the past four years.

The refurbishment took six months to complete and introduced semi-automated lines. It has also made better use of the space available at the plant.

The upgrade means Fudges will be able to create around 15 million biscuits a month.
