Destiny Foods merges with La Compagnie des Desserts

Manchester-based foodservice patisserie supplier Destiny Foods has merged with European dessert manufacturer La Compagnie des Desserts (CDD) to create a global business.

The foodservice supplier will incorporate CDD’s continental dessert and patisserie ranges, including its French patisserie, flans, breads and gelato ice cream products.

Destiny Foods, which employs 160 staff, is hoping the merger will continue its growth plans as it aims to become the UK’s leading speciality dessert foodservice supplier.

Richard Watts, managing director of Destiny Foods, said he believes CDD is the ideal partner for the company.

“Both companies share the same ethos and values in providing high quality desserts, excellent customer service and combined manufacturing facilities,” he added.

“We will pool our knowledge and product ranges to bring CDD’s quality French desserts and ice-cream to the UK market, as well as using CDD’s distribution network to better serve our European customers. This is fantastic news for Destiny Foods and its customers.”

CDD generates revenues of €61m through the operation of three frozen desserts manufacturing plants and one ice-cream factory in France as well as sales subsidiaries in Spain, UK, Switzerland and the US.
