Newly Weds Foods opens gluten-free facility

Global ingredients supplier Newly Weds Foods has opened a dedicated gluten-free plant.

Located in Banbury, Oxfordshire the new facility has opened on one of its existing sites. It will manufacture gluten-free breadcrumb made from loaves of bread.

Gluten-free breadcrumbs from tin-baked loaves, as well as gluten-free food coatings will be produced at the new facility.

“This dedicated factory is state of the art and designed to produce gluten free products unlike any others currently in the market. We are baking individual tinned loaves of gluten free bread,” said John Butcher, plant manager at Newly Weds Foods’ Banbury site.

“This facility will enable us to supply a range of gluten-free crumb, as well as complementary coating system components to meet our customers’ processing needs.”

With its plant now measuring more than 2,700 sq metres, the staff of 210 has been increased by six since the expansion.

The firm specialises in the production of food coatings, seasonings and functional ingredients for the food processing and foodservice industries. It has to 17 North American manufacturing facilities and 10 plant locations in the UK, China, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines and New Zealand.
