Greggs has opened stores at London Bridge and Cannon Street train stations.
The new shops follow Greggs’ first London Underground store, which opened at Westminster Tube in March this year, as the high street bakery business continues its push into more travel locations.
Greggs also unveiled its new Recruitment Hub at Cannon Street, which will support recruitment and development of shop teams across London and the South East.
The Cannon Street store opened on Friday 14 December and the London Bridge shop last week (20 December). Greggs said the openings created a combined 45 jobs as well as further expanding its presence in London, bringing the total number of stores in central London to 17, and the total number located within the M25 to 177.
Customers visiting the London Bridge store will be able take advantage of the shop’s metre-long ‘hot to go’ counter – the largest hot food display of any Greggs store.
“2018 was a landmark year for Greggs in London in which we opened in three major travel hubs in the capital. Following the launch at Westminster Tube earlier this year, and now with new stores in London Bridge and next to Cannon Street, we’re able to serve even more hungry commuters their favourite Greggs products,” said Roger Whiteside, chief executive at Greggs.
“These openings fit with our wider strategy to expand into more travel locations so we can provide our customers with even more convenient access to our great-tasting food.”
