Borders Biscuits’ characters the Border Biscuitiers are set to hit TV screens on 4 March as part of a new ad campaign.

The 30-second advert follows the family of Border Biscuitiers handpicking ingredients in the kitchen and working together to bake biscuits, with the strapline ‘Border Biscuitiers Bake Better Biscuits’.

Running on ITV3, ITV Granada and Tyne Tees from 4 March, the adverts will appear in key ad breaks across the channel’s flagship murder mystery shows including Midsomer Murders, Murder She Wrote and Miss Marple.

This is the second phase of national advertising for the brand, which recently introduced new packaging, a new-look website and enhancements at the Lanark factory as part of a wider brand investment.

From this month the Border Biscuitiers will also appear in a national consumer and trade print advertising campaign in titles including The Daily Mail. This will be supported by PR and social media.

Lesley Ann Gray, brand and innovation director at Border Biscuits, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the consumer reaction to our Biscuitier characters and they have really struck a chord with our audience, who warm to the nostalgic nature of the ad.”

The first advert will air during Midsomer Murders’ first break on ITV3 at 9.15pm on Saturday 4 March.
