Thomas the Baker has been working with Michelin-starred chef Jeff Baker on creating a pint-sized pudding for consumers this Christmas.

The special edition Triple Chocolate Stout Christmas Pudding has been given a twist by chef Baker, with the addition of Saltaire Brewery’s Triple Chocoholic Stout, as well as Belgian chocolate chips.

Baker said: "Thomas’s Christmas Pudding is already an award-winning 70-year-old recipe so it was a tough one to improve. We did five or six trials and decided to swap the Guinness for stout and soak the fruit in this for a week to get just the right ‘savoury’ flavour."

John Thomas, managing director of the Yorkshire-based bakery, said: "We are famous for our distinctive and award-winning Christmas puddings and were keen to tap into the unique and luxury handmade pudding market, which has been trending widely in the last few years."
