Birds Bakery has unveiled its 63rd store in the East Midlands as part of its expansion plans in the region.
The new 1,200sq ft site at Teal Park in Netherfield, Nottingham, is due to open in September and will see eight new jobs created in the local area.
The site will serve up Birds Bakery’s food to go offer which includes freshly made hot and filled rolls, such as bacon and sausage cobs as well as roast of the day rolls, alongside savoury snacks and sweet treats like Birds’ caramel doughnut and cream puff. Hot drinks will also be available as Birds will once again partner with 200 Degrees as it “has proven incredibly popular in many of our other stores and shows our commitment to working with other local businesses and suppliers.”.
The unit will also have a small amount of in-store seating for customers who wish to dine-in.
“Teal Park is an exciting new location for us and we’re looking forward to being part of a growing community. After the last few years, it’s great to see so many new businesses opening their doors in the area and we can’t wait to join them and, of course, welcome eight new people to the Birds team,” said Mike Holling, sales and marketing director at Birds Bakery.
“The new opening forms part of our expansion plans, with discussions about more new stores in other locations across the East Midlands already underway.”
Brokered by FHP Property Consultants, the deal will see Birds join several other retailers, including Aldi, at the expanding business park which is also home to a new school and children’s day nursery.
Birds Bakery was founded in 1919 and now has stores across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Derbyshire. Teal Park is the company’s 63rd in the region and 25th in Nottinghamshire, with stores also in Wollaton, Sherwood, Arnold, Mapperley, Clifton and the Victoria Centre.
