The latest edition of National Doughnut Week will take place from 15 to 23 May 2027.

It follows a successful week-long campaign of fundraising earlier this year which saw bakers, cafés, retailers, and foodservice operators across the UK raise £39,000 for The Children’s Trust.

Now entering into its 36th year, the event sponsored by CSM Ingredients has helped generate charitable donations totalling more than £1.2m to date including over £711k for The Children’s Trust.

New for 2027 is branded National Doughnut Week window stickers and pin badges, giving participating businesses additional ways to promote their involvement in-store and encourage customers to support the campaign.

“National Doughnut Week continues to demonstrate what the bakery industry can achieve with all things doughnuts,” commented Holly Wales, activation manager UK at CSM Ingredients. “We saw some fantastic creativity from participating bakers in 2026 and generated important funds of £39,000 for The Children’s Trust.”

Wales added that they were pleased to confirm the dates for 2027 so that bakers can get it in the diary and start planning. “We want next year to be even bigger, with new promotional materials and plenty of product inspiration to help bakeries make the most of the commercial opportunity while supporting a fantastic cause,” she said.

The Children’s Trust provides therapeutic support to children across the UK via its Brian Injury Community Service. Typically, these children and young people no longer require intensive therapy or rehabilitation but would benefit from some level of therapeutic support as they may have a combination of cognitive, communication and behavioural difficulties.

CSM Ingredients technical account manager Mike Wilde has predicted that, over the next 12 months, the number of occasions that doughnuts are consumed at will increase via at-home desserts and as snacks. “Desserts are fast becoming the only reason why diners are eating out or buying to take home and because of this there will be an increase in consumption of premium doughnuts that deliver theatre via bold colour and ingredients used for toppings and fillings,” he stated.
