Exeter-based vegan supplier Cake or Death will again be selling its limited-edition Valentine’s brownie box this year.

The bakery’s signature recipe fudgy brownies are swirled with raspberry jam and studded with miniature Jammie Dodgers. As with all Cake or Death products, the Valentine’s brownies are vegan and packaged in an pink leopard box.

Just Desserts Yorkshire has developed a themed cheesecake and a rocky road traybake that will be available through retail and hospitality outlets.

The Valentine’s Strawberry Dream Cheesecake is a creamy white chocolate cheesecake with a fruity strawberry centre, topped with flaked milk and dark chocolate, all on top of an dark chocolate crumb biscuit base.

The Valentine’s Rocky Road is a limited-edition version of the classic rocky road. It is a combination of biscuit, marshmallow, sultanas, and chocolate, decorated with sugared hearts, pearls and pink chocolate drizzle.

“This year we have taken two of our most popular dessert lines and created something special for Valentine’s Day,” said Kate Williams, general manager of Just Desserts Yorkshire. “Off the back of recent Christmas success, our customers can look forward to monthly NPD based around occasions and celebrations”

The Hummingbird Bakery has unveiled a new collection of Valentine’s treats including:

  • Mile High Heart Cake (£22): A single-layer heart-shaped sponge with a salted caramel centre. It is covered in chocolate frosting and finished with red, white and pale pink buttercream drops around the edge and sprinkled with tiny heart sprinkles and sugar paste hearts.
  • Valentine’s Love Birds Cake (£54): Four layers of red velvet sponge, finished with smooth white cream cheese frosting and a trail of red hearts. Two red love birds on sticks come boxed separately for the customer to assemble at home. (Pictured at top of article)
  • Vanilla Heart Cake (£37.95): A heart-shaped vanilla sponge covered in white vanilla frosting and a marbled pattern. The cake is decorated with red, white and pale pink buttercream drops around the edge, and sprinkled with tiny hearts and hand-cut sugar paste hearts. (Pictured above)
  • Sugar Coated Rose Petal Cake (£54): This is made up of four layers of vanilla sponge finished with white buttercream frosting, decorated with edible sugar coated rose petals, gold leaves, gold leaf and pink sugar hearts.
  • Valentine’s Day Selection Box (£3.80 to £25.60): This contains a selection of chocolate, vanilla and red velvet cupcakes decorated with Valentine’s sprinkles, hearts and a letter from a secret admirer. Vegan and gluten-free options are available.

Online supplier Sponge is selling a range of Valentine’s cakes including:

  • Chocolate & Strawberry Cake (from £16.75): A rich chocolate and strawberry sponge cake made with cocoa and with milk chocolate melted into it. It is sandwiched together with strawberry buttercream and drizzled with melted chocolate on top. It comes with a bag of chocolate love hearts to use as decorations or as an extra treat.
  • Valentine’s Pinata Cake (from £26.50): A four-layered chocolate sponge cake, covered in chocolate buttercream and chocolate flakes, with a surprise centre.
  • Strawberry Sweetheart Slice (from £10.50); Inspired by chocolate-covered strawberries, this is a chocolate sponge made using cocoa and with real chocolate chunks melted into the sponge. It is finished with a strawberry buttercream and sugared hearts.

  • Hot Lips Biscuits (£3 each): These feature a lip design on a chocolate shortbread, flavoured with strawberry icing. The red colour of the icing comes from beetroot, plums and radishes.
  • Raspberry Iced buns (£3 each): Croissant dough offcuts filled with raspberry & rose jam made by Tea Together, topped with raspberry icing.
  • Rhubarb and Ricotta Cakes (£3.95): Polenta and ricotta cake topped with rhubarb.
  • Breakfast In Bed Hamper: The hamper contains Gail’s favourites including a cinnamon bun, a plain croissant, a Wasteless loaf, a stick of Whey butter, A jar of Seville orange Marmalade and two small bottles of orange juice.
