Discount supermarket Lidl is recalling its Bread Baking Mix because it contains wheat, rye and barley (gluten), which is not mentioned in English on the label.
The presence of wheat, rye and barley in the Bread Baking Mix makes the product a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance.
The Bread Baking Mix (in sunflower seed, ciabatta, farmhouse and rustic wholemeal variants) is from the Belbake brand.
The affected packets are 1kg, with best-before dates of 4 March 2017, 13 March 2017, 16 March 2017 and 24 March 2017.
The advice from Lidl states: “If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to wheat, barley, rye (gluten), milk or hazelnuts, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where you bought it for a full refund.”
Last month, the union GMB planned to stage a series of protests outside supermarket chains Lidl and Morrisons, over a dispute at Warburtons-owned supplier Giles Foods.
