The full English breakfast is now portable, as Morrisons Café has added the Big Breakfast Butty to its menu.
The takeaway item features 10 individual elements associated with the classic full English breakfast. It is comprised of two sausages, two rashers of bacon, two hash browns, a fried egg, mushrooms, baked beans and one tomato all served up in an 18cm bread roll.
Morrisons first launched the sandwich in November as a limited edition. It has now returned to the supermarket’s cafés priced at £3.
There has been a trend in recent years for over-the-top breakfast items. Notably, a burger van in Wales called Rolling Rolls created a sharing fry-up in a loaf in October last year. It contained four sausages, four rashers of bacon, four eggs, four hash browns and beans for £10.
At the other end of the scale, many operators are looking to increase the health credentials of their breakfast offering. British Baker subscribers can read our latest on the subject feature here.
