Bluebasil Brownies has launched a new Fair-Trade festive brownie to fit in with its existing Christmas range.

The Dark Orange and Ginger brownie incorporates chunks of Divine’s 70% cocoa dark orange and ginger chocolate alongside Jersey cream butter, organic flour and eggs sourced from the company’s local suppliers.

Nikki Taylor, owner of the Oxfordshire-based bakery, said: “We chose Dark Orange and Ginger for Christmas this year as it is warm for winter and also sophisticated to take place on a festive table for tea, after-dinner or indeed pudding if warmed through and served with ice-cream or clotted cream.  We love the Divine range and it’s an extra feel-good factor, especially at this time of year to support a Fair-Trade company.

“I love developing new flavours of brownies and testing the market to see what’s popular so we will always be looking to bring new brownies out during the year. Our next focus is Valentines Day.”

The existing Christmas range includes the spicy Rudolph’s Rumnut brownie, which includes rum, nuts, raisins and flavours of Christmas pudding. In addition, the company’s Tiramisu brownie is layered with brandy, marscapone and coffee, whilst its Coffee and Irish Cream brownie has a mix of coffee and Irish cream whisky in the mix.

Customers and wholesales are able to select different flavours to make up their own boxes, which are available online.
