CakeyPigg Originals has scooped the Sponsors Choice award at this year’s Ice the Cake wedding cake awards.

The Berkshire cake designer took the top prize in the category, in addition to a Highly Commended in the Most Beautifully Bespoke category, at an awards ceremony at the Bicester Hotel Golf & Spa. The competition saw 4,000 nominations and 21 wedding supplier finalists enter this year.

Jennifer Wong, creative director at CakeyPigg Originals, said: "The awards ceremony was like the most fabulous wedding party, which was very fitting considering it was attended by some of the best wedding suppliers in the UK. When I heard that CakeyPigg Originals had won I was absolutely stunned. It’s been a fabulous cakey year and winning this award is literally the icing on the cake.”

Sue Page, Ice the Cake founder, said at the awards ceremony: “The Sponsors Choice award was created especially as we felt that the standard was so high in all of the finalists and we wanted you to know that we recognise the hard work and dedication each and every one of you give to your individual businesses."
