Newburn Bakehouse by Warburtons has claimed a first for the gluten-free market with the launch of its Tiger Artisan Bloomer.
The Newburn Bakehouse Gluten-Free Tiger Artisan Bloomers are available exclusively in Sainsbury’s. They are gluten-, wheat- and milk-free, and “baked using the traditional methods of hand moulding and kneading to ensure the perfect loaf is produced”, according to the company.
Retailing at £3.69 for 400g, Warburtons said it created the traditional tiger loaf in response to customer demand.
Chris Hook, free-from director at Newburn Bakehouse by Warburtons, said: “Warburtons has been at the cutting edge of bakery innovation for over 140 years and the arrival of this new gluten-free Tiger Bloomer is the latest example of our work.
“Our customers increasingly demand a high-quality artisan product and the Tiger Bloomer is representative of the excellent artisan free-from breads that our name is synonymous with. We’re proud we work with the best bakers and best ingredients to produce quality breads for our gluten-free customers.”
The Tiger Bloomer will join the Newburn Bakehouse by Warburtons artisan range, which includes the Classic White Loaf, Sourdough Cob, Seeded Boule and Breakfast Cob.
The Tiger Artisan Bloomers have been developed at Warburtons’ family-run gluten- and milk-free bakery in Newburn, Newcastle.
