Fortnum & Mason has unveiled gingerbread biscuits featuring gay and lesbian couples as part of its Valentine’s Day range.

Named Adam and Steve and Eve and Niamh (pronounced Neve), the hand-iced gingerbread biscuits are priced £15 and feature nude men and women, complete with iced fig leaves to protect their modesty, alongside an apple tree, snake and flowers. An Adam and Eve variation is also available.

“Fortnum & Mason’s iced biscuits are launched seasonally and around every major celebratory occasion in the calendar,” said a spokesperson for the department store. “They are always a hit with customers, who marvel at the intricate detail and are a regularly picked up as a gift or self-purchase.”

Notably, the Adam & Steve biscuit is already out of stock on Fortnum & Mason’s website, but the other two variations are available.

They’re not the only risqué gingerbread on the market. Late last year, Hackney-based bakery Gingerbread Rising gained traction for its range of ‘Slutty’, ‘Bossy’ and ‘Sassy’ edible treats.
