Pizza Hut has launched gluten-free pizza bases across its entire estate, in a bid to cater for the growing number of gluten-free eaters.

The chain rolled out the new square-shaped bases this week, which have been developed in association with Coeliac UK.

Diners choosing a gluten-free base will still have a range of toppings to choose from. Products like Pizza Hut’s popular BBQ sauce have also been reformulated so they are suitable for gluten-free consumers.

Sarah Sleet, chief executive, Coeliac UK, said: “We know that eating out safely is a top concern for people with coeliac disease, who must follow a strict gluten-free diet for life. We are working with the catering industry to help them deliver good-quality menu choices for people with coeliac disease and are delighted that Pizza Hut is recognising the importance of catering for this market.”
