Former Poundstretcher boss and Premier Foods sales director Ian York has become MD of bakery products distributor Bako North Western.
A 17-year veteran of Premier Foods, where he held the role of group sales director, York has gone on to board-level positions in manufacturing, wholesale and retail companies such as Cambridge Commodities, Poundstretcher, Symingtons and The Tofoo Company.
He is described as having a strong track record in restructuring following acquisitions and disposals, and being “passionately focused on customer growth and profit”.
“This is a very exciting time to be joining Bako North Western,” York said.
“With one of the most advanced multi-food product warehousing and distribution systems in the country, its ongoing commitment to innovation, investment, development and expansion makes it a perfect place to channel my own deeply held passions for customer growth and profit through market-leading solutions.”
Established for over 50 years, Bako North Western Group distributes bakery products across the UK from three national depots, using a multi-temperature fleet of more than 70 vehicles. The group comprises Bako North Western, Bako Northern and Scotland, and Bako South Eastern.
