Bakery ingredients manufacturer Dawn Foods UK and Ireland is on the hunt for its latest batch of student ambassadors.
First launched in 2017, the initiative sees students gain valuable hands-on work experience with Dawn as well as the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity in recipe development using the company’s ingredients.
Students will also help out with Dawn’s editorial and digital campaigns, making the ambassadorship ideal for aspiring food marketeers, it said.
Suitable candidates for the 2027 cohort must be aged over 18 and currently studying for a bakery degree, a level four bakery qualification, or working as an apprentice in the baking industry anywhere in the UK.
Seren Cox was one of three students chosen by Dawn to be its 2026 ambassadors. The recent graduate from University College Birmingham’s Bakery and Patisserie Technology degree course recommended other students to apply for the programme.
“It has been one of the most rewarding parts of my university experience, helping me build confidence, develop my creative skills, and connecting with new people. These experiences will stay with me long after university,” she commented.
Jacqui Passmore, marketing lead West EU & AMEAP at Dawn Foods, said the initiative formed part of our on-going commitment to nurturing new talent in the baking industry. “It is a varied programme and a great way for students not only to gain valuable insight into bakery manufacturing but to get their name noticed in the wider bakery industry too,” she said, adding that in turn, Dawn benefits from their fresh ideas.
“We are looking for Ambassadors who are passionate about the bakery industry, and excited about new ideas and trends in the market. If you think you have what it takes, the application is easy, so do give it a go,” Passmore expressed.
The closing date for entries is 30 October 2026. Interested parties can contact Lindsey Owen via email to lindsey.owen@dawnfoods.com, with more information available on Dawn’s website.
In addition to its ambassador programme, Dawn launched a new UK student internship programme last July in partnership with University College Birmingham. This is designed to give bakery and patisserie students broad practical experience in a commercial bakery environment.
