Pret A Manger is trialling a click-and-collect service in five London stores for the first time.
The service is available exclusively through Deliveroo, meaning customers can order and pay through the delivery service app and, on arrival to their chosen Pret store, will skip the queue and head to a designated point to collect their order.
Pret said it was testing different points in the shops for pick-up, including a ‘hatch’ system, which meant customers wouldn’t need to enter the shop.
If the initial trial proves successful, Pret aims to extend it to more shops over the coming months.
The five stores involved in the trial are:
- Aldgate, 85 Aldgate High Street, EC3N 1LH
- Hammersmith, 8-10 King Street, W6 0QA
- Kingston, 85-87 Clarence Street, KT1 1RB
- Putney, 121 Putney High Street, SW15 1SU
- Stratford, 21 Station Street, E15 1DA
“As more of our customers change their daily routines, we’ve been looking at how Pret can meet their needs,” said Pret digital transformation director Alex Chisholm.
“Click-and-collect is a great way of offering a fast, contact-free service for our freshly made food, and we look forward to making it available to more customers in the coming months.”
More than 300 Pret shops have reopened in recent weeks as the company has introduced new safety measures to keep customers and team members safe.
