Dates for next year’s edition of National Doughnut Week have been confirmed as 10 to 18 May 2025.

Retail and foodservice businesses including bakeries, cafés, bistros, and delis are once again urged to join the week-long celebration by stocking special-edition doughnuts in shops and then donating a portion of their sales to the charitable cause.

As with previous years, the funds collected will be channelled to The Children’s Trust to help children with brain injuries. A total of more than £628k to date has been donated to the national charity, which delivers rehabilitation, education, and community services through skilled teams working with children, young people and their families.

National Doughnut Week 2024, held back in May, went a grand better than last year by raising over £44k. Participating businesses spanned the length and breadth of the UK – from Stuart’s up in Leven, east Scotland, down to Malcolm Barnecutt Bakery down in Cornwall; Jenkins Bakery over in Llanelli, Wales, across to Birds Bakery in the East Midlands; and all in between.

Among the doughnut varieties created for the occasion were mint choc chip, chai & cinnamon, banoffee, Belgian milk chocolate, and Millionaire’s.

CSM Ingredients is also returning to sponsor the fundraising week, which includes covering all administration costs.

“This year’s National Doughnut Week was another great success, raising the most money since 2009,” commented James Dedman, general manager UK & Ireland at CSM Ingredients. “We want to say a huge thank you to all the businesses that took part and to the people who bought doughnuts.”

The event was first launched in 1992 by Christopher Freeman, co-owner of Dunns Bakery. It has since gone on to raise £1,143,546 for charitable causes including The Children’s Trust.

“All the money raised goes directly to The Children’s Trust and we are delighted to have been working with them for 20 years,” said Freeman. “We encourage all bakers, cafes and small businesses to make a note in their diary for the 2025 week and join in the fundraising with us.”
